Quetta Attack: CM Balochistan reviews blast site, reaffirms zero tolerance for terrorism

QUETTA:  Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti visited the site of the recent blast in Quetta on Saturday to assess the security situation and review the response of law enforcement agencies.

During his visit, the chief minister met officers and personnel from the police and security forces, commending their prompt and coordinated action. He praised the police and the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) for demonstrating professionalism and courage in responding to the incident.

CM Bugti described the swift operation against the attackers as exemplary, stressing that elements working against the state would be dealt with firmly. He reiterated that maintaining peace in Balochistan remains a top priority and that no leniency would be shown to those involved in terrorist activities.

In a statement shared on social media platform X, the chief minister revealed that security forces had eliminated 70 terrorists in different parts of the province over the past two days. He said that militants, identified as Fitna-al-Hindustan, attempted coordinated attacks at several locations in an effort to boost their weakening morale, but were successfully repelled by joint operations of the Balochistan Police and Frontier Corps.

According to CM Bugti, 37 additional terrorists were killed during these operations, underscoring the effectiveness of the ongoing counterterrorism efforts.

He emphasized that such attacks would not shake the determination of the state, vowing that security forces would continue to hunt down terrorists and their facilitators until the threat is completely eliminated.
