ISLAMABAD: A senior Libyan delegation paid a formal visit to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister’s House on Tuesday, signaling a renewed focus on enhancing bilateral relations.
The delegation included Libyan Prime Minister Dr. Osama Saad Hamad, Libyan Armed Forces Chief Field Marshal Khalifa Abu-al-Qasim Haftar, and Deputy Commander-in-Chief Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa Haftar.
The Pakistani side was represented by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, along with Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir. The talks centered on mutual interests, regional stability, and avenues for cooperation.
Both leaders discussed ways to deepen collaboration across various sectors, emphasizing the importance of peace, stability, and development in their regions. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to fostering strong ties with Libya and highlighted the importance of sustained dialogue and engagement.
The Libyan officials appreciated Pakistan’s role on the international stage and expressed a keen interest in expanding cooperation further. The meeting concluded with an agreement to stay in close contact and explore new opportunities for collaboration in the future.
