LAHORE: In Lahore, a local court has ordered the release of five suspects arrested in connection with the Bhatti Gate tragedy, where a mother and her daughter tragically lost their lives after falling into an uncovered manhole.
The district court granted bail to the accused following a settlement reached between the involved parties.
The complainant informed the court of their decision not to pursue legal action further, stating they had no objection to the acquittal or discharge of the suspects.
Judicial Magistrate Shafqat Abbas presided over the case, which had originally been filed by the Bhatti Gate police.
The suspects, identified as Salman Yaseen, Usman Yaseen, Ahmed Nawaz, and two others, have now been released. With this ruling, the case comes to a temporary conclusion.
