TEHRAN: Iran has presented six strategic conditions aimed at preventing the escalation of conflict, according to unnamed Iranian officials speaking to domestic media.
Officials said that regional parties and mediators have submitted proposals to Iran to halt hostilities. Under a new legal and strategic framework, Iran outlined six conditions, the first of which calls for a firm assurance that war will not resume.
The other conditions include the closure of U.S. military bases in the region, pushing back the aggressor and receiving compensation from Iran’s adversaries, ending hostilities on all regional fronts, implementing a new legal regime for the Strait of Hormuz, and taking legal action against anti-Iranian media operations, including deportation of personnel.
It was not disclosed through which mediators these conditions were conveyed to United States and Israel.
Iranian media reported that security and political officials have stressed that Iran’s conditions should be taken seriously. The sources said that a pre-determined strategy has been gradually pursued over several months with strategic patience.
Officials also claimed that Iran has now gained full control over the adversary’s airspace, though they added that, given the current situation, immediate prospects for a ceasefire remain unlikely.
