Woman allegedly Gang-Raped in moving van near Rawat; separate rape suspect arrested in Gujar Khan

RAWALPINDI: A 19-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped by four men inside a moving van in the Rawat area.

According to officials, the incident occurred within the jurisdiction of Rawat police, where special teams have been formed to apprehend the suspects. Raids are ongoing, while the victim has been sent for a medical examination.

An FIR was registered on the complaint of the victim’s mother, who stated that her married daughter had left home to purchase clothes for her children ahead of Eid.

The complainant said the victim boarded a wagon from GT Road near Chak Beli Morr, intending to travel towards Rawat Bazaar. During the journey, the vehicle’s conductor allegedly locked the doors and diverted the van towards Chak Beli Road.

When the victim resisted and raised an alarm, she was reportedly overpowered. According to the FIR, she was later forced into another vehicle at Chak Beli Morr by one of the suspects.

The accused allegedly drove her to the Baga Sheikhan area, where they attempted to take her into a house but instead assaulted her inside the van while moving through different routes. The victim was reportedly restrained and gagged during the attack.

After the assault, the suspects allegedly dropped her near Chak Beli Morr, threatened her, and recorded a video.

Police confirmed that a case has been registered and investigations are underway.
