NORTH WAZIRISTAN: The Pakistan Army has foiled a major infiltration attempt along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, killing eight militants during an intelligence-based operation.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations, security forces acted swiftly after detecting the presence of armed attempting to cross into Pakistan. The operation resulted in the elimination of all eight militants.
The military’s media wing said the attackers were linked to an Indian-backed network and had been sent across the border to carry out sabotage activities
A large cache of modern weapons and ammunition was also recovered from the slain militants, indicating plans for significant terrorist attacks.
The incident has once again highlighted concerns regarding borders management by the authorities in Afghanistan. The ISPR noted that the infiltration attempt underscores gaps in border control and reiterated Pakistan’s reservations over the use of Afghan soil by militant groups.
The spokesperson called on Afghan authorities to take effective measures to prevent such elements from operating against Pakistan.
The army reaffirmed that operations under “Azm-e-Istehkam” will continue with full intensity, with ongoing clearance efforts aimed at eliminating terrorism from the region.
Security forces reiterated their commitment to safeguarding the country and countering all threats to national security.
