ISLAMABAD: An earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale struck multiple regions across Pakistan, including Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
The Earthquake Monitoring Center confirmed the quake had a depth of approximately 190 kilometers, with its epicenter located in the Hindu Kush mountain range in Afghanistan.
The tremors were also strongly felt in Gilgit Baltistan. In Pakistan’s capital, Islamabad, and Rawalpindi, residents experienced noticeable shaking, with similar sensations reported in Murree and nearby areas.
In Punjab, the impact was felt in cities such as Lahore, Sialkot, Chiniot, Phalia, Gujrat, Faisalabad, Okara, Tandlianwala, Jalal Pur Bhattian, and D.I. Khan, causing concern among the local populations.
