ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have reiterated the government’s resolve to continue supporting vulnerable segments of society and tackling humanitarian challenges across the country.
In separate messages issued on the occasion of World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day, both leaders acknowledged the efforts of volunteers, staff members, and partners of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society for their dedicated humanitarian services.
President Zardari said the day highlights the important contribution of humanitarian workers in emergency response, healthcare support, and strengthening public welfare systems, particularly for communities facing hardship.
He called upon all stakeholders to renew their commitment to compassion, unity, and public service in order to build a safer, healthier, and more inclusive Pakistan.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif commended the Pakistan Red Crescent Society for its role in disaster management, healthcare assistance, blood donation services, and outreach programmes.
He added that the government highly appreciates the organization’s efforts and remains committed to enhancing cooperation with it in the future to better serve people in need.
