Pakistan Commemorates First Anniversary of Marka-e-Haq Victory at GHQ

RAWALPINDI: Syed Asim Munir attended a commemorative ceremony at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi to mark the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq, also referred to as the “Battle of Truth.”

The event was attended by senior military leadership, including Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu and Naveed Ashraf. During the ceremony, the military chiefs placed floral wreaths at the Martyrs’ Memorial in honour of personnel who sacrificed their lives in service to the country. Contingents from the army, navy, and air force presented ceremonial salutes.

Speaking at the gathering, Field Marshal Asim Munir described the anniversary as a proud occasion for the nation and said Pakistan had successfully responded to what he termed aggression during the conflict a year earlier. He stated that the country’s armed forces had demonstrated resolve and unity in defending national sovereignty.

The field marshal also paid tribute to fallen soldiers, saying their sacrifices remained a lasting symbol of courage and commitment. He noted that the nation considered the martyrs’ sacrifices a sacred responsibility and valued the achievements of the armed forces as a national honour.

Highlighting the evolving nature of security challenges, Asim Munir said future warfare would extend across multiple domains, adding that any fresh aggression against Pakistan could lead to broader consequences beyond conventional conflict.
