Pakistan will respond forcefully to any future aggression, warns Asim Munir

RAWALPINDI: Syed Asim Munir said Pakistan remained fully prepared to respond to any future threat, warning that fresh aggression against the country could trigger consequences extending beyond a limited confrontation.

Speaking during a ceremony at General Headquarters to mark the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq, the chief of defence forces described the occasion as a proud moment in Pakistan’s history. He said the nation had achieved success during last year’s conflict and had given what he termed a strong reply to Indian aggression.

Referring to a Quranic verse, Asim Munir said truth ultimately prevails over falsehood, adding that Pakistan’s opponents had repeatedly failed in their attempts to impose dominance in the region. He remarked that India had underestimated both Pakistan’s resolve and capabilities.

The field marshal paid tribute to soldiers and civilians who lost their lives during the conflict, saying their sacrifices would remain etched in the nation’s memory. He stated that Pakistan viewed its martyrs with honour and regarded national achievements as a blessing from Allah.

Asim Munir also commended the country’s youth for effectively responding to hostile propaganda on digital platforms. He said the people of Pakistan had stood united behind the armed forces throughout the conflict, describing the national response as one of complete solidarity.

Praising the performance of the Pakistan Air Force, he said the force had demonstrated exceptional capability and established a new standard in aerial combat operations. He added that Pakistani forces deployed along the Line of Control and eastern border had successfully pressured enemy troops during the confrontation.

The chief of defence forces further claimed that Pakistan’s air power and missile systems had accurately struck multiple Indian military positions during the conflict. He reiterated that Pakistan’s defence policy was rooted in maintaining peace, not provoking conflict.

Highlighting future military challenges, Asim Munir said warfare was rapidly evolving into a multi-domain environment involving advanced technologies and strategic coordination. He added that Pakistan’s armed forces were modernising both their equipment and operational thinking to meet emerging threats, describing the country as a strong and resilient power.

He also termed Pakistan’s strategic defence cooperation agreement with Saudi Arabia an important diplomatic and security milestone for the country.
