177 Pakistanis deported from Libya, sent back home via special flight

ISLAMABAD: Authorities announced the repatriation of 177 Pakistanis who had illegally entered Libya while attempting to travel to Europe. The individuals were released from Benghazi jail and flown back to Pakistan aboard a special aircraft.

Libyan officials confirmed that these Pakistanis had entered Libya through unauthorized migration routes as part of their journey toward Europe. The deportation was carried out in coordination with Pakistani authorities to ensure their safe return.

Sources from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) revealed that the names of human traffickers involved in facilitating this illegal migration have been added to the FIA’s “Red Book.” Investigation into other suspects linked to the trafficking networks is ongoing.

The deported individuals are from various cities: 59 from Lahore, 58 from Gujrat, 26 from Rawalpindi, 23 from Gujranwala, 10 from Sialkot, and one from Islamabad. Investigators noted that the group traveled through multiple transit countries, including Iran and Saudi Arabia, before reaching Libya.

After arriving in Pakistan, all 177 individuals were taken into custody by the FIA’s Anti-Human Trafficking Cell for initial screening. They are expected to be transferred to the respective FIA zonal offices for further investigation and legal action.
