RAWALPINDI: The Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa Haftar, paid a courtesy visit to Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, at the General Headquarters (GHQ) today.
During the meeting, both leaders exchanged views on various topics including regional security issues, defence collaboration, and opportunities to strengthen military-to-military relations. The discussions focused on deepening bilateral defence ties and exploring avenues for joint training, security cooperation, and strategic partnership.
Field Marshal Munir reaffirmed Pakistan Army’s dedication to fostering peace, stability, and constructive diplomatic engagement with friendly nations. He emphasized the importance of regional peace initiatives and maintaining strong military relations.
Lieutenant General Haftar expressed appreciation for the professionalism and operational excellence of the Pakistan Armed Forces, acknowledging their role in regional peace and security efforts.
Upon arrival at GHQ, the Libyan dignitary was accorded a Guard of Honour by a contingent representing all three services, reflecting the importance of the visit.
