KARACHI: Authorities confirmed that two dangerous criminals were fatally shot during a police operation in Budhni Goth, according to a police official.
SSP Samiullah Soomro stated that the suspects, identified as Mohammad Peeral and Sameer, also known as Shahmir, were killed in an exchange of gunfire with the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of the CIA.
“The individuals were wanted by police in connection with multiple cases, including murder, robbery, and arms theft,” SSP Soomro explained.
The police recovered a snatched 9mm pistol, a mobile phone, and a 30-bore pistol from the suspects, the official added.
“The recovered mobile phone has links to the murder of a woman named Yasmeen,” SSP Soomro noted. “Yasmeen was murdered on May 7 in the Soldier Bazaar area of Karachi, and her mobile phone was stolen during the incident.”
He further mentioned that the 9mm pistol recovered from the suspects was connected to a dacoity case registered at Brigade police station.
Cases of murder, robbery, and violations of the Sindh Arms Act have been filed against the two suspects. SSP Soomro emphasized that both individuals were proclaimed offenders and identified as hardened criminals by law enforcement.
