UMERKOT: Three young girls lost their lives when a wall of a school in Umerkot collapsed on Tuesday, causing a tragic accident in the village of Goth Gamuri.
According to police reports, the girls were walking past the school wall after attending a madrasa nearby when the structure suddenly gave way, trapping them beneath the debris. Emergency response teams and law enforcement quickly arrived at the scene and transported the bodies to Umerkot’s Civil Hospital.
The victims have been identified as 13-year-old Sughra, three-year-old Raiba, and Kaneezah.
In response to the tragedy, Sindh’s Education Minister, Syed Sardar Ali Shah, instructed authorities to conduct a thorough and transparent investigation to determine the cause and hold those responsible accountable.
Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah also expressed his condolences and sorrow over the loss of the three girls. He ordered the Education Department to submit an immediate report and demanded an unbiased inquiry to uncover the circumstances behind the incident.
