TEHRAN: Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Baqaei emphasized that the United States must uphold its promises to bring an end to the ongoing conflict in Lebanon, especially in accordance with the terms outlined in the first paragraph of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
During a press conference, Baqaei stated that Washington’s commitment is crucial and urged the U.S. to ensure Israel also fulfills its obligations under the agreement if necessary.
Iran Stresses MoU as Standard for U.S. Accountability
Baqaei reaffirmed that the content of the Memorandum of Understanding continues to serve as the primary reference point for evaluating whether the United States has honored its commitments.
Additionally, the spokesperson highlighted that mine clearance operations in the Strait of Hormuz fall under Iran’s jurisdiction as per the MoU, asserting that no external country should interfere in these activities.
