PCB, Saudi Cricket Federation ink MoU to build international cricket stadium in Jeddah

JEDDAH: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Saudi Arabia Cricket Federation (SACF) have entered into a landmark partnership to establish a world-class cricket stadium in Jeddah, aiming to accelerate the development of the sport in the Kingdom.

The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed by PCB Chairman Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi and Saudi Cricket Federation President Prince Saud bin Mishal Al Saud during an official ceremony, where both sides exchanged the signed documents.

The agreement follows high-level discussions between PCB and Saudi cricket officials. Under the partnership, the PCB will provide technical support and expertise for the planning and construction of an international-standard cricket venue in Jeddah.

The MoU outlines cooperation in key areas including stadium infrastructure, technical assistance, venue design and operational management to ensure the facility meets global cricketing standards. The stadium is expected to host international matches as well as other major sporting events.

Speaking after the signing, Mohsin Naqvi described the agreement as a major boost for cricket in Saudi Arabia, saying it would deepen sporting ties between the two countries and contribute to the game’s long-term growth in the region.

He noted that the project aligns with Saudi Vision 2030, which seeks to expand the Kingdom’s sports sector and attract international events. The planned stadium will feature modern facilities built to international specifications.

Officials believe the new venue will strengthen Saudi Arabia’s position as a future destination for global cricket while supporting broader goals related to sports investment, tourism, community participation and quality of life.
