WEB DESK: President Asif Ali Zardari has embarked on a four-day official visit to the Kyrgyz Republic. Upon his arrival at Issyk-Kul International Airport, he was warmly welcomed by Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov. A ceremonial guard of honor was also accorded to the Pakistani leader as part of the welcoming ceremony.
This visit marks the first time a sitting President of Pakistan has traveled to Kyrgyzstan since Benazir Bhutto’s historic visit in 1995. During his stay, President Zardari and President Japarov are expected to conduct a comprehensive review of their bilateral relationship and discuss avenues for further cooperation.
The discussions will cover a broad range of areas including trade, investment, energy, mineral resources, agriculture, education, healthcare, tourism, digital economy, and the strengthening of cultural and people-to-people links. Both leaders will also deliberate on ways to deepen regional collaboration and reinforce the longstanding fraternal ties between Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan.
The visit aims to foster greater regional stability and mutually beneficial partnerships, building on the foundation of friendship and shared interests.
