WEB DESK: Once again, Rawal Dam in Rawalpindi has witnessed a significant die-off of fish.
Sources report that numerous dead fish have surfaced on the water’s surface and gathered along the shoreline. It has been revealed that each year, the contractor responsible for managing the dam deliberately poisons the water, resulting in large-scale fish mortality.
The poisoning appears to be a recurring issue, with the contractor and his team spending the past two days removing the dead fish from the dam.
Despite the ongoing situation, no action has been taken by authorities against the contractor for the fish kills in Rawal Dam. The Rawalpindi administration oversees the contract related to water and fish management at the site.
Meanwhile, the Islamabad district administration is implementing measures to regulate boating activities and spillways at Rawal Dam to prevent further incidents and ensure safety.
