MASTUNG: Security officials reported that four terrorists, allegedly backed by Indian interests, were neutralized during Operation Al Azm in Mastung district of Balochistan on Friday.
Sources indicated that security forces launched a targeted operation in Khad Kocha Tehsil after intelligence suggested the presence of militants associated with the Indian proxy group Fitna al Hindustan. During the operation, four terrorists were killed, and a significant cache of weapons and ammunition was recovered from their hideouts.
Additionally, security personnel confiscated motorcycles believed to be used by the militants. Reports also confirmed that several terrorists sustained injuries during the raid. Several individuals suspected of facilitating terrorist activities were detained, the sources added.
Search and clearance efforts are ongoing in the region, with security agencies maintaining heightened surveillance to thwart any further terrorist plots. Intelligence-based operations in Khad Kocha have been intensified in light of recent militant attacks.
Just a day prior, another operation in the same area resulted in the death of six terrorists. During that operation, multiple hideouts were destroyed, and authorities seized a large quantity of weapons and explosives. Several suspects, including facilitators and both male and female suicide bombers, were taken into custody.
Meanwhile, Balochistan Home Minister Mir Zia Lango highlighted that terrorists often threaten judges following their convictions, which contributes to the province’s low terrorism conviction rate. His comments came shortly after an armed attack on a judicial vehicle near Wali Khan Bypass resulted in the killing of Sessions Judge Abdul Hakeem Kakar and his security guard, with Additional Sessions Judge Tariq Lashari injured, according to police reports.
