ISLAMABAD: In Islamabad today, Mohamed Yahya, the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Pakistan, paid a farewell visit to National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq.
During their discussion, the Speaker commended Yahya’s efforts in fostering collaboration between Pakistan and the United Nations. He emphasized that the partnership is built on mutual trust, shared goals, and strong cooperation, and highlighted the UN’s significant role in supporting Pakistan’s development initiatives.
The Speaker also stressed the importance of women’s empowerment, noting the efforts of the Women’s Parliamentary Caucus and the Gender Mainstreaming Committee in creating an environment that promotes women’s participation and addresses their issues effectively.
Mohamed Yahya expressed his gratitude for the respect, support, and warmth he experienced during his tenure in Pakistan, saying he will always cherish his time in the country.
