Islamabad: Federal Minister for Interior Shaikh Rasheed Ahmed on Wednesday apprised that it is decided to ban Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan under the anti-terrorism act.

The minister was addressing a presser in which he said that to ban the TLP a summary from behalf of the Punjab government recommendation will be forwarded to the federal government for an approval.

Shaikh Rasheed was addressing the presser after chairing a meeting at interior ministry of the law enforcement agencies.

Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed says the government will deal with an iron hand with those who take the law into their own hands.

He was chairing a meeting in Islamabad on Wednesday to review the law and order, and the situation caused due to protest by a religious organization.

Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Noor Ul Haq Qadri, secretary interior, Inspector General Punjab (IG), chief commissioner Islamabad, Inspector General Islamabad (IG), rangers and other representatives of law enforcement agencies were in attendance.

The Minister directed the law enforcement agencies to ensure writ of the state at every cost.

He said motorways, G.T Road and other roads have been cleared for traffic. He said Rangers have done an excellent job in collaboration with police and the administration in this regard.
