LAHORE: Pakistan has reported 79 deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of positive cases has surged to 1,089,913. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 24,266 on Friday.
According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) 4,619 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

Till now 11,307 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab, 6,355 in Sindh, 4,624 in KP, 827 in Islamabad, 660 in Azad Kashmir, 332 in Balochistan, and 161 in GB.
Furthermore 407,892 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 369,358 in Punjab, 150,708 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 92,768 in Islamabad, 31,396 in
Balochistan, 28,654 in Azad Kashmir and 9,137 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Pakistan has so far conducted 16,735,031 coronavirus tests and 59,504 in the last 24 hours. 979,411 patients have recovered in the country whereas 4,656 patients are in critical condition.
