Islamabad: Former Senator Faisal Vawda on Tuesday challenged the verdict of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for his disqualification in Islamabad High Court (IHC).
The petition reads that the ECP had no authority to disqualify and insisted the court to declare the ECP verdict of February 9 null and void.
Waseem Sajjad advocate filed the petition in the IHC from behalf of Faisal Vawda.
The petition stated that there is no legal status of the ECP verdict adding that the ECP is not a court of law. The impression of the ECP is false that article 62 (1) f will be applicable on the application of article 63 (1) C. The declration under ariticle 62 (1) needs trial.
Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) had disqualified Sadia Abbassi on a dual nationality but didn’t apply article 62 (1) f.
