Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday issued notice to Attorney General of Pakistan on the petition filed by Pakistan Broadcaster Association (PBA) against PECA amendment act.
The IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah heard the petition of the PBA.
Rabi Bin Tariq appeared before the court as counsel of the PBA and other petitioners.
In his arguments the PBA counsel said that the PECA amendment ordinance is conflicting with article 19 and 19 A of the constitution.
The hounourbale Chief Justice IHC said that you didn’t mention section 20 in your petition and asked that didn’t you have any problem with section 20?
The court mix the PBA petition with other petitions as one collective petition and adjourned the hearing till March 10.
The court also sought respond of Attorney General of Pakistan on the PECA ordinance on the next hearing.
