Karachi: Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) traffic Causeway Korangi snatched mobile phone of abbtakk news crime reporter Rehan Chishti and also misbehaved with the later while the DSP traffic was busy in conducting challan of the trucks .
The DSP traffic was busy in conducting challan of trucks with his contingent at the Korangi Causeway while no traffic SO and nor any traffic police personnel were present.
The DSP got angry when the journalist try to make a video of the scene, when the journalist saluted the DSP, he snatched the mobile phone of the journalist.
The DSP asked why did you make the video without his permission? are we stealing anything, to which, the journalist said that we didn’t say you are stealing, we are bringing the good work of the police in front of masses.
Rehan Chishti apprised the DSP that we did’nt need his permission under the right of information law adding that you do your work and let we do our work.
At the occasion the police officer reprimanded the journalist and thrashed him as well while the journalist insisted to let continue his work.
The Journalist demanded to return his mobile phone while all the incident were recorded in the mobile phone despite its snatching.
The journalist community expressing their concerns on the incident said that providing accurate news to masses is the obligation of the journalist.
The community demanded the police high ups to take action on the incident.
