Islamabad: President of Supreme Court Bar Association Ahsan Bhawan has said that the article 63 (A) of the constitution is clear adding that the government’s reference even is not maintainable.
Talking to media, Ahsan Bhawan said that it is first time that the speaker didn’t follow the constitution while he urged the speaker to follow the constitution as he is a democratic speaker.
He said that if the constitution was not followed then action should be taken under article 6.
In the history of the parliament, there is no any single day exist when rule 37 was not followed.
He said that we wanted as an advocate the country be run on the democratic process adding that the lawyers are neutral and we wanted supremacy of the constitution.
It is pertinent to mention that the government has filed petition in the Supreme Court for an intrepetation of the article 63(A) which was approved by president Dr Arif Alvi.
Various questions have been asked from the top court in the reference.
The government wants the opinion of the SC early for which it is requested to the court that hear the case on daily basis.
