Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday agreed to make Pakistan Muslim Laeague-Quaid (PML-Q) leader Pervez Elahi as chief minister Punjab while the government has apprised to the PML-Q leadership.
The government efforts to woo its alliance are continued as the government delegation reached the residency of the PML-Q chief Chaudhry Shujat Hussain. The government delegation called on the PML-Q leadership.
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Federal Minister for planning and special initiative Asad Umar, Defence Minister Pervez Khattak were part of the government delegation.
Speaker Punjab Assembly (PA) Pervez Elahi, Wajahat Hussain, Monis Elahi, Salik Hussain, Tariq Cheema were represented the PML-Q.
The opposition no trust motion, existing political situation including matters of mutual interests were discussed. The government delegation passed on Prime Minister Imran Khan message to Chaudhry Pervez Elahi.
The government delegation informed the PML-Q leadership that the PM has agreed to make Pervez Elahi Chief Minister Punjab.
