Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Monday challenged an election amendment act in Supreme Court of Pakistan.
The former premier adopted the view that the act is unconstitutional and demanded that the act should be declared null and void and give rights to overseas Pakistanis.
The National Data Base Registration Authority (NADRA) and the Election Commission of Pakistan be ordered to impose e-voting system, he added.
The PTI chief said that in his challenging petition that the election amendment 2022 act is against the constitution and depriving overseas Pakistan right of votes is violation of the basic rights.
He said that after the election amendment act 2021 making new act is illegal.
The federal government, election commission and NADRA have been made respondent in the case.
