Muzzafarabad: Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) legislative Assembly is meeting today (Sunday) for election of new prime minister.
The ruling party could not finalize the candidate for the premiership.
Barrister Sultan Mahmood Group has given names of Chaudhry Akhlaq and Chaudhry Rasheed. The ruling party can get 26 votes in case they make alliance with the opposition.
On the other hand, Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) alliance has divided on the issue as Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) will contest election separately while bringing their own candidates on the PM slot.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Inaf (PTI) has also broken up as its many members joined the forward block.
There is a need of 27 votes for becoming the premier.
