Lahore: The old friend of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan, Amir Kiyani has announced to quit party and politics while he categorically said that to his party chief without naming him, the person who talks of real independence ” I wanted to say him we had gotten the real independence on August 14, 1947.”
In his presser this evening in Lahore, former health minister also announced to quit all the party posts as well.
Amir Kiyani said that what happened on May 9 was heart wrenching and regrettable.
He said “I started politics against corrupt people of the country adding that I don’t want to part of such politics which may harm national security.”
He said that he was in grieve over vandalization and arson which was rampant on May 9. He said that the Pakistan army is guarantor of the national defence and security.
While currently he was the North Punjab president of the party.
He remained federal minister for health from August 2018 to April 2019 in the PTI government.
Earlier, member of National Assembly from Karachi, Mahmood Moulvi has left the party and tendered resignation from his NA seat yesterday.
He citied May 9 mayhem across the country reason behind quitting the party.
