Karachi: Provincial Minister for Information and Transport Sharjeel Inam Memon on Friday handed over a cheque of yearly grant of Rs 50 million to President of Karachi Press Club (KPC) Saeed Sarbazi at Sindh Assembly (SA).
Minister for local bodies Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Minister for Excise and Taxation Mukesh Kumar Chawla, member SA Owais Qadir Shah, Director Information Administration Muhammad Yousuf Kabouro, Director Press Information Hassan Asghar Naqvi and former president of the Karachi Press Club Fazil Jameli were also present at the occasion.
Talking at the occasion, Information Minister Sharjeel Memon said that the Sindh government has carried out historic measures for the welfare of the journalists.

From provision of plots to journalists to financial aid for their treatment while it also provided grants for journalists organization and press club, Sharjeel Memon said.
He said that the Sindh government has also taken lead in legislations for the protection of the journalists while Sindh Commission for the protection of the journalists and media practictioners has stablished and activated as well.
President Karachi press club Saeed Sarbazi, alluding exemplary cooperation of Pakistan People’s Party(PPP) leadership Asif Ali Zardari, Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah and specially Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon and all the officers of the department of information and thanked all of them from behalf of all the journalists and journalists bodies and on press club grant.
