Karachi: Jamat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Ameer Hafiz Naeem Ur Rehman and Muttahida Quami Movement Pakistan (MQMP) convener Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddique have expressed concerns and sorrow over a horrific fire in shops and building of furniture market at Ayesha Manzil.
The JI ameer demanded a high level investigation into the fire. Hafiz Naeem Ur Rehman said that the continuity of the fire incidents and human, financial losses are of great concerns in the city.
Hafiz Naeem Ur Rehman said that it posed a question mark on the performance of the government and respective institutions on the repeated incidents of fire in the city.
He said that no investigation was carried out of earlier fire incidents and no any practical steps were taken to avoid the fire incidents.
He praised the fire brigade staff who with less resources have done a tremendous job.
On the other hand, Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddique appealed the people to remain far from the building and shops which have engulfed in the fire so that the rescue staff and fire brigade staff could not face any hurdle in fulfilling their duties.
He said that this is the consecutively the second fire incident in the city which is a matter of concern.
He apprised that the volunteers of the MQMP and its activists are present in the rescue and aid work.
