Pakistan withdraws its ambassador from Iran

Islamabad: In a serious move Pakistan on Wednesday announced returning of its ambassador from Iran over later violation of air space killing two innocent children and injuring three girls.

Addressing a presser Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zehran Baloch said that Pakistan also has sent message to Iran’s ambassador in Pakistan to leave the country.

Pakistan has also announced to end all diplomatic relations with Iran, the FO spokesperson said.

Following the decision, the Pakistan has also cancelled all the different visits to Iran, she said.

Iran’s open violation of its sovereignty and unprovoked move last night is against the international law and the charter of United Nations aims and principles, she said.

Pakistan has reserved to respond to illegal step taking by Iran adding Pakistan has decided to withdraw its ambassador to Iran.

She said that Iran’s illegal move is totally unacceptable while Pakistan has informed it decision to Iran governments.

Earlier in the day, Pakistan has strongly condemned the unprovoked violation of its airspace by Iran which resulted in death of two innocent children while injuring three girls.

Foreign Office Spokesperson in a statement said this violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty is completely unacceptable and can have serious consequences.

The statement added it is even more concerning that this illegal act has taken place despite the existence of several channels of communication between Pakistan and Iran.

Pakistan’s strong protest has already been lodged with the concerned senior official in the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tehran.

Additionally, the statement maintained the Iranian Charge d’affaires has been called to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to convey our strongest condemnation of this blatant violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty.

The statement added that Pakistan has always said terrorism is a common threat to all countries in the region that requires coordinated action.
