Lahore: The Journalists community of Lahore staged protest by tying black strip on their shoulders against the Punjab government defamation act.
The journalists attended the Punjab budget session and remained in press gallery.
On the other hand opposition parties staged protest inside the Punjab Assembly against the government.
The opposition members also tore down the copies of the budget.
Earlier, the journalists community Lahore had decided to stage protest outside the Punjab Assembly by tying black strip on their shoulders and boycotting the budget session over the defamation act.
President of Lahore Press Club Arshad Ansari said that we don’t accept the defamation act adding the defamtion law is a black law against the expressing of views freely.
He apprised that we will boycott the coverage of budget session and will also hold protest on the assembly stairs.
