Occupied Al-Quds: Israeli air strikes martyred at least 43 people in the territory’s north,Cited health officials in Gaza, Wafa news agency reported
The air strikes conducted a day after the International Committee of the Red Cross said 22 people were killed in shelling that damaged its office, Al Jazeera reported.
Two children and a woman were among killed in the fresh Israeli airstrike on a house in Gaza City.
In a statement, the Gaza Civil Defense said: “Our teams in the Gaza Governorate managed to recover 3 martyrs (bodies), including two children and a woman, and several injuries after Israeli occupation (Israeli forces) aircraft targeted Ahel family’s house in the al-Daraj neighborhood, eastern Gaza City.”
With the killing of these three Palestinians, the total number of people killed in Gaza City as a result of Israeli bombardment in the last few hours has reached 43.
The Gaza City strikes added to at least 138 deaths over the previous 48 hours.
Dr Mahmud Aliwa of Al-Ahli hospital in Gaza City said his facility received 24 bodies after the strikes, which left smoke rising over the city. While several of the injured succumbed to their wounds later.
“People were going about their business” when, suddenly, “the whole area was wiped out” in an air strike, said Abu Mahmud al-Kariri, an eyewitness in Al-Shati.
Against a grey backdrop of destruction, men used a donkey cart to remove some of the dead in Al-Tuffah.
