Rawalpindi: Director General (DG) Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR) Lt General Ahmed Sharif has said that don’t make operation Azme Istehkam as a political issue which is a very vital and very basic matter.
Addressing a presser at the DG ISPR headquarter, Lt General Ahmed Sharif clarified that the Azme Istehkam is not a military operation adding that political and illegal mafia stood against the Azme Istehkam and a strong lobby is active against it.
The DG ISPR apprised that the security forces conducted as many as 22,409 operations in this year while 137 soldiers embraced martyrdom whereas 31 highly most wanted terrorists were killed.
Lt General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that if we were lenient towards responsible, facilitators and planners of May 9 incident then fascism will spread in the country.
The DG ISPR said that a political party did a propaganda why didn’t army stop them adding that he said that when a group of anarchist come they are warned first then aireal firing is opened and if the anarchists not stop then whatever actions which needs be are taken.
He apprised that armed people were included in the peace march in Bannu and some innocent citizens were killed owing to their firing.
He added that anti-state slogans were chanted in the march.
