Earlier, the company confirmed that Moonis Alvi resigned from his position as CEO of K-Electric. This information was shared officially with the Pakistan Stock Exchange.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Moonis Alvi stated that organizations are greater than individuals and emphasized his commitment to the company’s progress. “After nearly 18 years with K-Electric, including almost 8 as CEO, I have decided to step down. It has been a privilege to serve such an essential institution in Karachi’s life, working alongside some of the most dedicated professionals I know. I will support a smooth transition,” he wrote.

Additionally, Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori overturned the workplace harassment penalty imposed on Moonis Alvi, offering significant relief to the power utility’s top executive.

In a formal notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange, K-Electric announced that the governor had annulled the order issued by the Provincial Ombudsman Sindh against Alvi. The decision was taken under Section 9 of the Protection Against Harassment of Women at the Workplace Act, 2010, after reviewing the case and hearing arguments from all parties involved.

“The Governor of Sindh has annulled the order issued by the Provincial Ombudsman Sindh,” K-Electric stated.
