Bangladesh opt to bat first against India in 2nd match of Champions trophy

Dubai: Bangladesh have decided to bat first against India after the winning the toss in the second match of the Champions Trophy in Dubai on Thursday, today.

India need a strong performance against Bangladesh to generate winning momentum as it has to face arch rival Pakistan on February 23 at Dubai.

Fast-bowling star Jasprit Bumrah is out from the team owing to his fitness problems. Harshit Rana was named as the star bowler’s replacement for the ongoing tournament.

Varun Chakravarthy’s recent display against England also earned him a place in the 15-member squad.

Bangladesh team is packed with top talents including Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah and Mehidy Hasan Miraz. The Asian side also have a formidable bowling line-up featuring the likes of Nahid Rana, Tanzim Hasan Sakib and Mustafizur Rahman.

They will be looking to upset India in their tournament opener.

The Tigers are widely known for their knack for springing surprises on the big stage. A win for Bangladesh could dramatically reshape the narrative of the fifty-over competition.
