WEB DESK: Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), strongly condemned recent Indian military actions against Pakistan, asserting that Pakistan has the right to self-defense in response to what he described as “provocative violations of sovereignty.”
In an interview with Turkish and Arab media, he emphasized that the crisis extends beyond regional concerns and requires international intervention to prevent escalation between two nuclear-armed nations.
He stated, “This is not just something for the region—it affects the whole world. The international community must get involved to help mediate and resolve this issue.” Bhutto Zardari called on global leaders to hold India accountable for its actions, cautioning against unchecked hostility.
Addressing India’s claims of terrorist camps within Pakistan, he questioned the transparency of India’s narrative, asking, “If India really believes what it claims, why is it scared of transparency?” He also criticized India for targeting civilian infrastructure, including populated areas, mosques, and water reservoirs, labeling these actions as “war crimes” and condemning the killing of civilians and destruction of religious sites.
His remarks followed a deadly Indian strike during the night between Tuesday and Wednesday, which targeted multiple locations in Azad Jammu and Kashmir—such as Kotli, Muzaffarabad, and Bagh—as well as in Pakistani towns Muridke and Ahmedpur Sharqia. The attack killed at least 31 Pakistani civilians, including two children, and injured 51 others, while also destroying two mosques.
