KARACHI: Chairman of the Pakistan People Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, has termed bringing India to the negotiating table a significant achievement for Pakistan.
Speaking to media, Bilawal said, “India, which had previously insisted it would resolve issues through force rather than dialogue, agreed to a ceasefire after Pakistan’s retaliatory strikes.”
He further stated that in the past, conventional wisdom suggested Pakistan could not defeat India in a traditional war. “However, after the successful operations by the Pakistan Army and Air Force, it has become clear not only to India but to the entire world that Pakistan is fully capable of defending itself.”
Bilawal emphasized that any new talks or agreements must be based on India recognizing and respecting previous accords.
It is worth noting that Pakistan delivered a strong and decisive response to Indian aggression, targeting more than ten strategic locations during Operation Bunyān Marsūs (Iron Wall). These included air bases and installations in Adampur, Udhampur, Bathinda, Suratgarh, Mamun, Akhnoor, Jammu, Sirsa, and Barnala. India’s Uri field supply depot, Sirsa, and Halwara airfields were also destroyed.
As part of the operation, Pakistan used a missile system to strike multiple Indian targets. In Adampur, the Pakistan Armed Forces deployed a JF-17 Thunder equipped with a hypersonic missile to destroy an Indian S-400 air defense system worth $1.5 billion. The military also released video footage of the missile-equipped JF-17 Thunder in action.
Following Pakistan’s retaliatory strikes, a ceasefire was agreed upon between the two countries.
