KARACHI, July 23: New CCTV footage has come to light in connection with the long-standing murder case of a young girl in Karachi’s Manora area. Meanwhile, the prime suspect was killed in a police shootout.
Authorities believe the child was abducted before being murdered. Investigators revealed that the CCTV images allegedly show the suspect carrying a sack believed to contain the victim’s body. The footage is currently under review as part of ongoing investigations.
The six-year-old girl’s body was discovered in bushes in the Mauripur neighborhood after she went missing. Police transported the remains to a hospital for post-mortem analysis.
According to Dua’s family, she had left her home to buy an item from a nearby shop and never returned.
In a recent development, police announced that the main suspect was killed during an encounter within the jurisdiction of Jackson police station. The operation was reportedly carried out based on evidence including CCTV footage and other investigative leads. During the exchange of fire, the suspect was injured and later succumbed to his injuries while receiving medical treatment.
Earlier, SSP Keamari Singhar Malik had established a dedicated investigation team to locate those responsible for Dua’s abduction and murder. Further inquiries into the case are ongoing.
