Funeral of JI Secretary General Ameer-ul-Azeem held in Lahore

LAHORE: The funeral prayer for Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Secretary General Ameer-ul-Azeem was performed in Lahore’s Mansura area on Thursday, drawing a large congregation from various segments of society.

Leading the funeral was Jamaat-e-Islami Emir Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman. Among those present were Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Provincial Minister Sardar Ramesh Singh, senior politician Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri, as well as JI Deputy Emirs Liaqat Baloch and Zia-ud-Din Ansari. Family members of the deceased, including Noor-ul-Azeem, Ashraf-ul-Azeem, and Asad-ul-Azeem, also participated.

Notables such as former Punjab Governor Ch. Mohammad Sarwar, Maulana Amjad Khan, Daily City 42 Group Editor Naveed Chaudhry, Mubashir Lucman, Hafiz Idrees, Nazir Ahmed Janjua, Azhar Iqbal, Mushtaq Ahmed Butt, Farhan Shaukat, Aamir Anjum, Nasir Ahmed, Qaiser Sharif, former MNA Waheed Alam Khan, and Salman Ghani attended the ceremony. Ameer-ul-Azeem was laid to rest at the Canal View Society graveyard.

In the meantime, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his heartfelt condolences over the passing of Ameer-ul-Azeem. In a statement, he paid homage to the late leader, describing him as a visionary politician whose contributions to the political landscape would be remembered for years to come.

The Prime Minister prayed for the soul of the departed to find peace and for strength to be granted to the bereaved family during this difficult time.
