Karachi: Senior Minister Sindh Sharjeel Memon said that we wanted to bring China EV taxis and more buses under Public Private partnership.
Addressing a presser in Karachi, the Minister who also has a portfolio of transport ministry said that to ensure road safety and prevention of precious lives measures have been taken.
The Minister said that motor vehicle fitness new Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) has been implemented from December 1.
Sharjeel Memon apprised that for Karachi citizens first phase of Malir Expressway is being started which will help decrease traffic and Transport problems for people of Karachi.
He said that the Sindh government has spent billions of rupees on Malir Expressway aiming to solve Karachi traffic issues.
He said that Chinese investors have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and today good news has come from them that they wanted to bring more buses and EV taxis under the public and private partnership.
From this type of project foreign investment will pour in, he said.
Sharjeel Inam Memon said that Chinese investors have announced plans to invest in the transport sector, a move that is expected to boost foreign investment and increase the country’s foreign exchange reserves. Additionally, it will create new job opportunities for the youth.
