ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar left for Saudi Arabia on Thursday for a three-day visit to participate in a key meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
The Open-Ended Extraordinary Ministerial Session is scheduled to take place at the OIC General Secretariat in Jeddah later tonight.
The session has been convened to deliberate on what the OIC describes as unlawful actions by Israeli authorities, including the expansion of settlements, moves toward annexation, and efforts to assert sovereignty over parts of the Occupied West Bank.
During the meeting, Dar is expected to present Pakistan’s stance on Israel’s recent measures, particularly the reported conversion of areas in the Occupied West Bank into what Israel terms “state land.”
On the sidelines of the conference, the deputy prime minister will also engage in bilateral discussions with fellow foreign ministers and representatives from OIC member countries.
