EC releases analytical report of LB elections

ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan has released analytical report of Local Bodies elections, while according to report, the turnout of LB polls remained less than general elections 2013, whereas the polling turnout was 30 percent in rural posh areas and 60 to 70 percent in urban areas and six billion and 260 million rupees were spent in elections

Election Commission has released report of Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Baluchistan and Islamabad Local Bodies polling, while the report has been release by Secretary Election Commission. Additional Secretary Fida Mohammed, while briefing regarding report, told that all four provinces, Islamabad, Cantonment  had to face difficulties due to separate rules of Cantonment, while from printing of ballot papers to logistic matters, Election Commission had to face difficulties in the whole election.

According to report, 263000 candidates participated in the LB polls, while 75000 polling stations, 212000 polling booths were made. There were 122 DROs, 1600 ROs and 4000 AROs were assigned during LB polling, while arrangements were made for 89100000 voters.

According to report, over six billion and 260 million rupees were spent for holding LB polls, while more than 230 million ballot papers were printed. Total 91 out of 326 political parties participated in elections. According to Secretary Election Commission General Election 2013 report will be released after Eid.
