Karachi(May  12, 2018): Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar has said that the  load-shedding is criminal negligence, expressed anger over the ongoing power outages in Karachi during hearing of the power crisis case in Karachi on Saturday.

According to the details, hearing the case of power outages in Karachi, Chief Justice of Pakistan summoned the chief executive officer of K-Electric, city’s sole power utility, Tayyab Tareen.While referring to Tareen, the top judge remarked: “I have heard you are not supplying electricity to the people of Karachi. Should we leave the people at your mercy?”

The Holy Month of Ramazan, in which it is obligatory for all Muslims to fast from sunrise to sunset, is starting on May 17, the CJP added. “What will the people do in Ramazan?”Many areas of the metropolis are facing a power outage for over 14 hours.

A technical fault at K-Electric’s Bin Qasim power plant is said to be the reason for the power crisis that the power utility has been unable to address the malfunction for the last eight days.

Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Saqib Nisar ordered KE to inform about power outages in the city till May 20.
