Islamabad (July 5, 2017): An inquiry committee, probing ‘standing passengers’ incident on a Pakistan International Airlines’ (PIA) Karachi-Medina flight on January 20, held the pilot responsible for loading seven extra passengers.
The inquiry committee gave clean chit to senior purser (air hostess) Hina Turab, and terminal manager Akbar Ali Shah. Whereas the probing committee held Capt Anwer Adil responsible for the major violation of air safety regulations.
Earlier, Capt Anwer Adil, senior purser (air hostess) Hina Turab, and terminal manager Akbar Ali Shah were issued notices for allegedly letting extra passengers travel on jump seats and the cockpit on PIA flight PK-743.
According to the details Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight PK-743 carried 416 passengers on a flight from Karachi to the Saudi city of Medina on January 20, despite having a capacity of 409 including jump seats.
