ISLAMABAD: Pakistani students seeking doctoral opportunities in Germany can apply for the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation Scholarship 2027, which offers financial support for PhD studies at recognised German universities.
The scholarship programme is open to international students pursuing doctoral research and provides funding for up to three years.
Successful applicants will receive a monthly stipend of €1,500, along with a €100 monthly mobility allowance and a one-time payment of €20.
Eligibility and fields of study
The scholarship is available for PhD candidates in a wide range of academic disciplines, with medical studies excluded.
Applicants must have secured admission to a doctoral programme at a German university and provide confirmation from an academic supervisor, such as a professor or lecturer.
Candidates are also required to demonstrate German language proficiency at B2 level and submit an officially recognised certificate.
The foundation will consider applicants’ academic performance as well as their commitment to social engagement and related activities.
Documents required
Applicants are expected to provide their academic degrees and transcripts, a research proposal, confirmation from their PhD supervisor, a German language certificate and recommendation letters.
Application deadline
Pakistani students interested in the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation Scholarship 2027 must complete their applications through the foundation’s online portal by October 1, 2026.
The programme is intended to provide international doctoral researchers with financial assistance while they pursue their studies and research in Germany.
