Google pays homage to Uncle Sargam creator Farooq Qaiser on his 78th birthday

Pakistan’s famous and first puppet character Uncle Sargam’s creator, writer, and artist Farooq Qaiser is celebrating his 78th birthday today.

In 1976, Uncle Sargam became the first puppet character to appear on PTV’s children’s show “Kalian,” and it amazed audiences how even 19-year-olds enjoyed the show.

The renowned artist and writer Farooq Qaiser, who created Uncle Sargam, is celebrating his 78th birthday today. On this occasion, Google also didn’t lag behind and paid tribute to the artist by changing its doodle. The duo of Uncle Sargam and Maasi has left an indelible mark on every heart, still bringing smiles to the faces of their fans.

Artist Farooq Qaiser was born in the Sialkot district of Punjab, and he received his fine arts education from the Arts College in Lahore. In 1993, Farooq Qaiser was honored with the Presidential Award for Pride of Performance for his services. Additionally, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) bestowed upon him the title of “Master of Puppets” in 1997, while he was also awarded the PTV Life Time Achievement Award in 2010.

It is evident that Farooq Qaiser passed away in 2021, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished for years to come.
