Hajj operation to Kick off on Tuesday from Islamabad International Airport

Islamabad: This year Hajj operation will be kicked off from Islamabad international airport from Tuesday (tomorrow).

Under the road to Mecca project as many as seven special immigration counters have been prepared.

More than 100 flights will carry 28,400 pilgrims will depart from Islamabad airport.

The Hajj operation will continue till May 31.

Chief Operation Officer (COO) Aftab Gillani apprised that seven special immigration counters have been set up under the road to Mecca project.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith harmony has completed all arrangements in this regard.

On the first day of the Hajj flight operation, six flights will be operated: two from Lahore and one each from Islamabad, Karachi, Quetta and Multan.

PIA flight PK-713 carrying 393 pilgrims will depart at 4:45 in the morning from Islamabad International Airport.

Under the government Hajj scheme, 89,000 pilgrims will be transported to the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah through 342 flights.

During the first fifteen days of the operation, pilgrims will be flown directly to Madinah.

According to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the hajj flight operation will continue for 33 days.

The last Hajj flight from Pakistan will depart on 31st of the next month.
